Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this research is to evaluate the sexual function in menopausal women. This research is a cross-sectional and descriptive study. The study has performed on the sexual active menopausal women who had accepted to participate to the study applied to İstanbul University İstanbul Medical Faculty Menopause Clinic between April 2009–February 2010. 106 women has accepted to the study. Socio-Demographical Characteristics Form that is prepared by the researcher and Female Sexual Function Index and Beck Depression Inventory used for data collection. Sexual dysfunction was determined in 81,1% (n=86) of the women participating in the study. It has been identified sexual function is effected by women's age, education level, working status, marriage type, reproductive system related surgical operations, menopause duration, frequency of sexual intercourse, satisfaction with sexual life, communication with partner about sexual life, sexual problems of women's and their spouses, and age, education level and working status of the spouses. There was a statistically significant relationship between sexual function and depressive symptom level. As the level of depressive symptoms increased, total and all sub-dimension scores of FSFI decreased statistically significant and sexual function was adversely affected.
