Abstract (EN)
One of the most important textile and industrial heritage of our country, Merinos Textile Industry Museum, dating back to the establishment of "Sumerbank Merinos Wool Institute", is our first textile industry museum. It is situated in an area in Bursa, called Merinos Park and Merinos Convention and Culture Center. The subject of the research is the inventory study of this museum, established on October 14th, 2011. From 1938 until 2000, in addition to contributing to national economy in many fields, especially in Textile Industry, the factory, with its modern social facilities, enlightens our recent history, and can be better-understood with the machinery, equipment and documents on display at Textile Museum. Textile Industry Museum has been designed with the restoration of Merinos Wool Factory without changing its original architecture. The introduction of the production process is also targeted with its exhibition style, in which the operation of the factory is taken into consideration.. In the museum, there is also a Silk Section, established by the museum with the purpose of serving Bursa and Turkish art and culture, and an Art Gallery, in which donated paintings of Malik AKSEL, one of the important painters of our Republic, are exhibited. 185 recorded pieces of the museum's inventory are included in the study. 85 pieces of this inventory are the textile machines on display in four galleries in two storeys of the museum. 16 pieces are memoribilias (medals), belonging to Merinos Factory. Besides, there are 84 recorded pieces in the Art Gallery on continuous display. This section of the museum is established to honor painter Malik AKSEL whose paintings are on display there. These pieces in the study are listed with their descriptions, as they are recorded in museum documents, as the first part of an extensive knowledge to guide the researchers in the field.
