Özet (EN)

The Analysis of the Factors that Affect Mercantilism, Different Mercantilist Views and Practices on the Base of Countries (A Comparison on the Foundation of the Views of France: Jean Baptiste Colbert and England: Sir Josiah Child), PhD, Ankara, 2009.In this study the different mercantilist views and practices have been studied in terms of the views and practices of Jean Baptiste Colbert who has lived in the 17th century and has been in the French government administration as well as the works and views of his contemporary Sir Josiah Child who has been an administrator in the English East Indian Company, been a member of the parliament and is one of the leading thinkers of his era and the practices in England. To this extent, the 17th century mercantilists views and practices have been shown in a comparative manner in the axis of the views and practices of Colbert and the views of Child and the practices of England at that time. As a result it has been put into light that the said views and practices in both countries are different and that this difference arises from factors such as economy and especially foreign trade, political situation and the view of administration, religious structure and demographic and social condition.Key Words1.Mercantilism2.17th century3.Jean Baptiste Colbert4.Sir Josiah Child
