Abstract (EN)

In this study, the usability of marble dust and cement, which is a waste and non-harmful material, in soil improvement, instead of traditional additives, has been investigated. For this purpose, the strength and time-dependent settling behavior of the samples prepared at optimum water content by adding 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight of marble powder to the natural clay soil sample for 1, 7, 14 and 21 days of curing times have been examined. Based on the results obtained, the optimum marble dust ratio has been determined. New samples have been created by adding 3%, 6%, 9% and 12% cement to the natural clay ground optimum marble powder mixture. The strength and settling behaviors of the samples have been re-examined for 1, 7, 14 and 21 days of curing times. Only marble dust, marble dust and cement-added natural clay soil showed a significant increase in unconfined compressive strength and a significant decrease in time-dependent settling values. As a result, the usability of marble dust and cement in soil improvement has been determined.
