The research of possibilities of lemon fruit storage in storage rooms where opened in platos of Mersin

The effects of storage rooms with interior temperature and humidity conditions, periods and transport time on weight loss, decays with other quality characteristics, were studied. For this aim; three improving storage facilities areas of Platos of Mersin with other one in Ortahisar were compared with machine cooled storage room of Alata. As a result, it has clearly seen that as in weigth and decay losses and the other quality criters of fruits were keeped as well quality as storage room of Ortahisar and machine cooled storage room in Platos of Mersin. In all storage rooms, it was realized that application of transporting fruits to storage rooms as soon as harvesting at December decreased weight and decay losses and improved the other quality criters. Fruits transported at December, decay losses was decreased by half. Storage rooms of Ortahisar has got high relative humidity in order to reduce decay losses ventilation is essential. During summer, interior temperatures of storage rooms in platos is high and should be cooled this period. Interior temperatures of all storage rooms is low to lemon transport at december and so storage rooms must be heated by controlled differencial termostats whenever it is needed. There are ventilation problems in all storage rooms, so for the best ventilation requirements must be taken into consideration. Key words: Citrus, Lemon, Storage, Kütdiken, Storage Room II
