Abstract (EN)
The shortage of cotton production in America has changed the fortune of Mersin in 19. Century. Mersin has been attached to national railway network in 1866 and become an important harbor and trade center which export regional growth goods. America has been searching for new cotton suppliers because of the difficultyThat they faced about producing national cotton requirement during the civil war. The growing commercial potential of Mersin has forced merchants to move in to this bright city. Nowadays who has been a small group in population, Christian Levantines has made big contribution to Mersin as they have come as traders. The buildings constructed by Levantines for the comfort of their lives, might be accepted as our National Architectural Heritage. In this research the spaces of Levantines are going to be studied.
