Determining single nucleotide polymophism of some genes in free DNAs of the patients with bladder cancer

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the levels of free DNA used as a cancer biomarker through the advantages it provided such as cost, applicability and quick results, when compared to invasive methods, were determined with both photometric and fluorometric measurements in bladder cancer patients; and, whether this DNA provided competence in determining the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) was also investigated. Gene names and reference numbers of the location where the polymorphism was expected were as such: CCAT2 (rs6983267), HRAS (rs126289), MIR146A (rs2910164) and RET (rs1799939). The general findings obtained indicated that fluorometric measurements were more advantageous considering the sensitivity of free DNA measurements. In addition, when it was treated quickly, it was found that free DNA was even sufficient to allow SNP working. This result could be a remarkable data due to indicating the quality of free DNA.
