The effect of professional vitality on service innovation behavior

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of professional vitality on service innovation behaviour among healthcare professionals. The research was conducted using quantitative correlational and cross-sectional survey designs. The data presented herein were collected via a survey from 411 healthcare professionals, who were sampled using a convenience method. The survey comprised a socio-demographic data form, the Professional Vitality Scale, and the Service Innovation Behavior Scale. The data analysis was conducted using a range of analytical methods, including frequency analyses, descriptive statistics, normality analyses, validity and reliability analyses, difference analyses, correlation and regression analyses. The study revealed that the participants exhibited elevated perceptions of occupational vitality (OC) and moderate perceptions of service innovation behaviour (SIB). Furthermore, statistically significant differences were identified between the groups with respect to the variables of age, number of children, institution of employment, length of service in the current institution, total length of service, title and department (p<0.05). A significant disparity was identified in the levels of service innovation behaviour, contingent on the variables of age, number of children, institution of employment, length of service in the current institution and total length of service (p<0.05). Moderately positive and significant correlation was foound between professional vitality and service innovation behaviour (r=0.535, p<0.01). The findings of the regression analysis indicated that professional vitality significantly and positively predicted service innovation behaviour (B=0.584, SE=0.046, β=0.535, t=12.809, p<0.001). The explanatory power of the model was found to be (R²=0.286). The findings indicate that an increase in the professional vitality levels of healthcare professionals is associated with a statistically significant increase in their service innovation behaviour.
