Adequacy level of conceiving lessons in department of graphic education of vocational education faculty in textile conceiving sector

ABSTRACT The main objective of this research is to determine the common points among the methods of application, the preparations for the product, the technologies of mate rials, the educational positions between the graphic arts and textile from the point of view of the experts of graphic design and the experts of textile design and to prepare an educational program including also the textile design for Gazi Üniversitesi Mesleki Eğitim Fakültesi Uygulamalı Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü Grafik Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı in the light of the similar aspects. The scientific data of the research was collected from the libraries, the related departments of universities and internet connections using the method of literature research. A survey which was developed by the researcher and an interview form were used as information collecting devices. The interview form which was developed for this research was applied on 100 graphic designers who work at printing houses and advertisiment agencies in Ankara and the interview form applied on 14 experts who work as textile designer in the textile sector in Bursa. The data which was collected as the result of the application of the interview was analysed to realize the objective of the research, the statistical frequency and per centage of each question was obtained, they were interpreted in tables and a general evaluation was performed. According to the data of the survey, most of the graphic designers who are in the model group did not have any education in the field of textile design and only a few of them did textile design in their work. It is the common opinion of the people who participated in the interview that if the necessary educational programme is pre pared and some particular subjects are taught to graphic designers, the graphic design ers are able to work in this sector. ivAccording to the data of the interview and the survey it has been understood that the same computer programme has been used in both fields of design, and there has been a lot of similarities the printing technics and technologies. It is a fact obtained as the result of the data that if the necessary regulations are realized in textile design subjects and concepts in graphic design education, the graduates of graphic design can work in die textile sector.
