Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTIn our country, folk music songs whose orchestra arrangements have beenmade are very important for the teachers and students of vacatıonal school of art.Moreover, it is true that there are different opinions about the quality of these songs.This study aims to determine the attitudes of the teachers and the studentstowards the folk songs, whose orchestra arrangements have been made, in orchestraclasses in vacational schools of art, to provide with suggestions to increase such studiesby commenting on these determined attitudes.The paper is composed of two main universe ; the folk songs whose orchestraarrangements have been made and the students and teachers of the music department ofvocational schools of art.The first sampling group of the study is comprised of 67 folk songs whoseorchestra arrangement have been made. The second sampling group is composed ofstudents who played in orchestras in the following schools in 2004-2005 education year;2nd and 3rd grade orchestra class students of Balıkesir, Bolu, Bursa Anatolian HighSchools of Fine Arts, whose main domain is music, and Kırşehir, Kocaeli and KütahyaAnatolian High Schools of Fine Arts, whose main domain isn?t music; and students whoplay in the orchestras of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal, Gazi, Uludağ Universities MusicDepartments. Besides,the sampling of the orchestra teacher is included in the wholeuniverse.Two questionaire forms have been prepared and applied; one to the orchestrateachers and the other to the students.Tabless made of frequency and percentage values have been used in solvingthe from those questionnaires statistically. General overview information is gathered bychecking the frequency and percentage change values together. Crosssectional tableshave been formed in order to determine how some answers of students and teacherschange accoding to their instituions. By means of these crosssectional tables, whetherthe institutions of these students and teachers affect their answers or not has been testedand evaluated via Pi Square tests. Within this testing type, the level ofcomprehensibility is accepted as 0,01. According to this, the relation between theanswers of the students and teachers according to their institutions has been asked to be% 99 reliable.Consequently,at the and of the research, it is understood that students andteachers appreciate the folk songs whose orchestra arrangements have been made, andthus these kinds of studies should be carried out more oftenKey words: Arragement, Folk Songs
