Özet (EN)
The metabolic syndrome (MetS), occurs with co-development of insulin resistance, abdominal obesity, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, hypertension and coronary artery disease is added to each other is defined as a syndrome of systemic disorders. MetS is also called insulin resistance syndrome, polymetabolic syndrome, syndrome X, deadly quartet, and civilization syndrome. It has been proposed that cytokine production in abdominal adipose tissue can play a prominent role in the pathogenicity of MetS. Science people, owing to the increase in prevalence of MetS, they need to do more research on this topic. In this study of fructose metabolism in obesity, insulin resistance, inflammation, hypertension and fatty liver effects, and therefore increases the risk of developing considering that of the important components for the Mets developed experimental models were needed. In this study, we had the purpose to contribute to the literatüre with the data to be obtained from investigating the mechanisma of the reason of increase of the development and the prevalence of the tribulus terrestrist extract metabolic syndrom, AFABP and Ox-LDL, having a metabolic syndrom formed in rats with a fructose diet. In the study, 21 Sprague-Dawley rats about weight of 240-260 g have been used. The rats were seperated to 3 groups, each of which has 7 rats. Group1; control group (10 weeks), Group2; MetS with fructose (10 weeks), Group3; given Tribulus terrestris after MetS progress (10+8 week) in created. Rats were decapited after the study. Blood samples were taken, the glucose, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, IL-6, TNF-α and Ox-LDL levels, Liver and adipose tissue samples taken from the rats were measured in the serum, and the effects of Tribulus terrestris on these parameters were examined. Serum insülin, glucose, HOMA-IR, triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL-C, TNF-, IL-6 and Ox-LDL levels measuring were compared to the control group found statistically significantly higher and the HDL-C levels was compared to compared to the control group found statistically significantly lower in the metabolic syndrome groups ( p<0,01). After the formation of MetS, that we gave the Tribulus terrestris plant extract groups Ox-LDL, LDL, insülin ve HOMA-IR levels significantly different (p<0,05) were lower whereas the HDL-C levels significantly different (p<0,05) were higher. After the formation of MetS, that we gave the Tribulus terrestris plant extract groups serum glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, TNF- ve IL-6 levels were lower, but the decrease did not have a statistical significiance (p>0,05). According to data obtained as a result of the study, Mann Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis the value of p<0,05 was used as a level of statistical signifiance in a pair wise comparision between the groups. Consequently, Tribulus terrestris plant extract have a positive effect on the liver and adiposet issue, insülin metabolisman lipid profile which can be useful to in the patients with MetS and it looks like a promising option has been concluded.
