Abstract (EN)

This study, which consists of an introduction, a conclusion and two chapters, aims to find out the model of text analysis and reading particularly for Arabic texts with perspective discourse analysis/ textlinguistics and in this frame to practice on the text structure of the Arabian Nights.In Introduction, importance of the study, its aim, text analysis and reading and the short history of the Arabian Nights and its matter and its wide spreading process are dealt with.Chapter one tries to investigate main terminology of discourse analysis and standards of textuality, the evolution of discourse studies, discourse analysis in Arabic and signification process of text with perspective of discourse. It deals with this process in three positions as descriptive level, analytic level and explicative level. In the first level ?cohesion? and in the second level ?coherence? and in the third level ?intertextuality? is focused.In Chapter Two, the selected stories from the Arabian Nights are examined and their text structures are tried to be determined.Conclusion provides a general survey of the study and gives the conclusions that the study reached.Appendix presents the main terminology about discourse analysis.
