Abstract (EN)

Although the incidence of gastric cancer has decreased in developed countries in recent years, it is still one of the most common malignancies in the world. It is seen with an incidence of 17.1 / 100.000 in men and 7.9 / 100.000 in women. Asprosine is a newly detected adipokine that acts on glucose metabolism and is released in white adipose tissue. The human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2 (C-erbB-2)) gene is a member of the HER family and is a protooncogene. In most studies performed in gastric adenocarcinoma, c-erbB-2 overexpression is found as a negative prognostic factor. It has been shown to have positive effects on prognosis, especially since it provides targeted treatment in advanced gastric cancers. Identifying and evaluating reliable biomarkers and therapeutic targets in cancer is very important. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between Asprosin and C-erbB-2 levels in the tissues of patients diagnosed with gastric cancer, and their role in diagnosis and grading. We think that by investigating changes in asprosine and c-erbB-2 immunoreactivity in gastric adenocarcinomas, it may play a role in the early diagnosis and staging of gastric adenocarcinomas with more detailed studies in the future. Randomly selected 60 gastric adenocarcinomas (20 grade I, 20 grade II, 20 grade III) and 20 normal gastric mucosa samples were taken from the archives of Fırat University, Department of Pathology. Asprosin and c-erbB-2 were stained immunohistochemically and their levels were examined in 4 groups. In our study, it was observed that there was a negative correlation between asprosin and cerbB2 immunoreactivity in gastric adenocarcinomas and this correlation was statistically significant. Key words: Gastric Adenocarcinoma, Asprosin, C-erbB-2
