Özet (EN)
African studies in the literature are very few. Because of this, this thesis is important in terms of contributing to the literature. In this study, I examined the role of DGMM in migration in Turkey and discussed the institution's view of migrants from Africa through Ravenstein's immigration laws. While writing this thesis, I mostly used secondary sources, and these sources consisted of books on migration theory. As the primary source, I examined the website of the DGMM. I explained the immigration movements of migrants from Africa under Ravenstein's laws. I understood that Ravenstein's theory is all migration theories' origin, and other theories have evolved from it. In my opinion, it cannot be argued that every migration theory can adequately explain the migration phenomenon because each migration theory helps us to look at the phenomenon of migration from a different perspective. Furthermore, it cannot be argued that each has a clear answer to the phenomenon of immigration because there is no single answer to questions in social sciences. It can also be argued that any theory is only correct, or several are correct at the same time, or all are true.
