Abstract (EN)

In divan literature, which was created jointly by Arabic, Iranian and Turkish literature, there are some traditions that have been put into practice by many poets over the centuries. One of these traditions is that divan literature has some unique concepts and notions. These conceptual notions, which can also be understood as poetics, have enabled some words to be used with the same meanings by poets in poetry and to be understood by readers in the same meanings. These concepts and notions are, in a sense, an unnamed consensus point of the society. Although the majority of Divan poets are men, female poets have also emerged over the centuries. Mihri Hanım and Leyla Hanım are among the few female poets. Mihri Hanım, one of these poets, lived in the 15th century, a period closer to the founding period of divan literature. Leyla Hanım, on the other hand, lived in the 19th century, when divan literature had lost its power and was preparing to be replaced by Turkish literature developed under Western influence. In this study, Mihri Hanım and Leyla Hanım, who lived in different periods, were subjected to a comparative examination in terms of concepts and notions, based on the poetry examples in their divans. Around both names; It has been tried to see and understand whether the tradition has gained differences specifically for women poets and whether there has been a change in concepts and notions over the centuries.
