Abstract (EN)

The Arabic alphabet is a writing system that has been used for a long time in different periods and geographies of the Turkish language. Some solution suggestions and new proposals regarding the problems encountered in matching the letters of the Arabic alphabet with the sounds of the Turkish language have begun to appear especially since the 19th century. Many works have been written about spelling rules in order to ensure the order of spelling. One of these works is Miḥver-i İmlā: Teşkîl-i Kelimāt - Tefrîḳ-i Ġalaṭāt written by Es-seyyid Mehmed Bedri during the II. Constitutional Monarchy period. The basis of the writing rules in the work is based on palatal harmony and the closeness of written and spoken language. While writing down the rules of correct spelling, the author strengthened them with examples and increased their understandability by presenting the correct and incorrect spellings of the words he gave to his readers. The work discussed in our study is registered in the IBB Atatürk Library with the inventory number AHT_0011. Our study consists of analysis, text and index. In the review, the rules that the author deemed necessary in the orthography of the Turkish language and the phonetic and morphological situations that create these rules were determined and examined under subheadings. The work has been transcribed in the text section. In the index section, an index of linguistic terms was created by giving the meanings and page numbers of the grammar words in the work. At this stage, the meanings of the grammatical words in question are given by paying attention to their context in the text.
