Özet (EN)

ABSTRACTThe Evaluation of Histomorphological, mmunophenotypical and T Cell ReceptorGamma Gene Rearrengement Features in Diagnosis of Mycosis FungoidesMycosis fungoides is characterized with neoplastic infiltration of dominant CD4positive T lymphocytes. The diagnosis may be diffucult in early lesions, both clinicallyand histomorphologically. Immunohistochemistry and molecular biology techniqueshave been researched as an adjunct to the diagnosis of mycosis fungoides. Our aim was to determine the help of immunophenotyping and T cell receptor γgene rearrengement studies to the histomorphological diagnosis of mycosis fungoides. In this study, immunohistochemically, antibodies to CD3, CD4, CD8 and T cellreceptor γ gene rearrengement analysis with a polymerase chain reaction wereperformed on formalline fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues of 73 cases (39 mycosisfungoides with classical histomorphology, 16 with suspicious histology for mycosisfungoides, 18 benign inflammatory dermatoses as control group). In mycosis fungoidesand suspicious for mycosis fungoides groups, CD4 percentage, CD4/CD8 ratio, clonality were statistically significantly different. CD8 percentage was not statisticallydifferent between three groups.Histomorphological features -if there is- are gold standart for diagnosis ofmycosis fungoides. However, in early mycosis fungoides and the suspicious cases;when the histomorphological features are inadequate, immunophenotypical evaluationand T cell receptor γ gene rearrengement with polymerase chain reaction analysis mayhelp to the diagnosis of mycosis fungoides.Key words: histomorphology, immunophenotype, mycosis fungoides, T cellreceptor γ gene rearrengement.
