Abstract (EN)
The main goal of this work is determined as synthesis and characterization of novel coordination compounds of vanadium and cadmium metals. Compounds of these metals were tired to incorporate with ligands containing oxygen and/or nitrogen groups to form coordination polymers with open?framed structures. However, in the hydro/solvothermal reaction conditions, the ligands used in this work were decomposed or polyoxometalate clusters were formed. For this reason, hydro/solvothermal synthetic methods were changed with microwave synthetic method to provide softer reaction conditions. The compound, [VO(C4H3(COO)N2)2(H2O)]?2H2O, was synthesized and characterized by former graduate student, Bihter ŞAŞMAZ, of Assoc. Prof. Sabri ÇEVİK (Şaşmaz 2009). The synthesis and characterization of this compound was published in Journal of Chemical Crystallography (Cevik 2011). The compound was obtained by 9% yield from the filtrate after 70 days by using the hydrothermal synthetic method. In this work, the compound was obtained by 50% yield from the filtrate after 3 days by using the microwave synthetic method. The compound prepared with microwave synthetic method was compared with compound prepared with hydrothermal synthetic method by using the results obtained by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, TGA, manganometric titration and the room temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements. As a result, same compound can be prepared by both synthetic methods and the microwave synthetic method has potential for preparation of coordination compounds and advantages due to providing soft reaction conditions
