vMICROCONTROLLER CONTROLLED AUTOMATICAGRICULTURAL IRRIGATION SYSTEM(M.Sc. Thesis)Sinan ALTINGAZİ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTMain goal of this study is to provide irrigation automatically with minimumlabor requirement at a location that is far away from a residential area, difficult to reach, having no mains electric network. For this purpose aPIC16F877 controlled system is designed. System works as a timer whichcounts down from the time specified by 4x4 keyboard and after the period iscompleted controller drives the solenoid valve. Irrigation time can also bespecified by the 4x4 keyboard and system returns to beginning of theprogram after the irrigation time is finished. PIC16F877 detects keyboardinputs by using the RB4, RB5, RB6, RB7 pins changing interrupts. For timecounter TMR0 interrupt is used. Power is obtained from the solar panel andit charges the 12V/9AH battery. Working datas are presented using 4 piecesof 7-segment display.Science Code : 905.1.035Key Words : Microcontroller, PIC, IrrigationPage Number : 148Adviser : Ass. Prof. Fadıl ÇELİKKOL
