Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, to respond the increasing demand in textile sector, functional yarns which can be produced by using different raw materials on various yarn production systems become preferable. One of the functional yarns is composite yarn types. Composite yarns production can be possible in various new spinning systems or modified spinning sytems. Core-spun yarn which is a type of composite yarns is developed to exploit core and sheath components with different properties such an optimum way at the same time by combining of these components. Core-spun yarn can be produced by wrapping sheath fibers around mono/multifilament core with a certain twist. In this study, textured PES filaments with the same linear density and different filament finenesses were used as core and cotton covered hard core-spun yarns were produced on modified ring spinning system. To determine the effect of core ratio on yarn performance, hard core-spun yarns with different yarn number were produced. In addition, conventional (100% Cotton) yarns were produced at the same production parameters to compare core-spun yarns performance. Furthermore, indigo dyed denim fabrics were produced at the same cover factor with using these yarns as weft. The effect of filament fineness and yarn number on yarn and fabric quality has been investigated by applying different quality control tests. The results derived from tests has been statistically analyzed with the aid of Design-Expert statistics package program.
