Abstract (EN)
Since the dawn of mankind textile materials have been produced and used to protect people from the surrounding environment. Over the years, textile properties like quality and wearing comfort have improved, and it is true to say that textile materials are an important aspect of our everyday lives. Logically, textile materials have found their way in the medical field as well, e.g., artificial aortas and bandages. However, advanced functional textile drug delivery systems were not developed until the end of the last millennium. Besides the classic dosage forms, one of the most important reasons of using the textiles in medical industry is that, some active agents become inactive after metobolisation or they should be taken rather high dosage to influence. The aim of this study is to form microparticules which contains anti-inflammatory and to apply the resultant to the orthopedic support material. Drug loaded microparticules were prepared anti-inflammatory active material encapsulated with ethyl cellulose polymer by emulsion/solvent evaporation and spray drying method. Characterization studies were performed on the resulting microparticules by differential scanning calorimeter, FT-IR (Fourier transformation ? infrared spectroscopy), X-ray diffractometer, particle size analyze and scanning electron microscope. The microparticules which are appropriate properties were applied onto the orthopedic support material. The release of the active substances from the prepared textile material was investigated by in-vitro drug release studies. After the application and washing cycles, the presence and the situation of the particule was analyzed with the use of scanning electron microscope.
