Abstract (EN)

In this study; Micronized filter perlite (MFP) is used as an alternative additive in the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material and the effects of MFP use on the mechanical and thermal properties of the material are aimed. For this purpose, filter perlite obtained from Erzincan was added to the standard PVC formulation with laboratory scale mixer in 2%, 5% and 10% by weight. Sample strips were produced with laboratory scale twin screw extruder using the obtained mixtures. Tests were performed to examine the mechanical and thermal properties of the samples. Hardness, density, ash, tensile, notched impact and thermal conductivity determination tests were applied and the test results of MFP doped samples were compared with the sample with standard PVC composition ratios. According to the results, mechanical properties of materials decreased with addition of MFP. In addition, MFP addition has been shown to increase the thermal strength of the samples
