The methodical analysis of the French course materials used in the public schools: Je Parle Français and Je Voyage en Français

In this work, the problems of the French course books ( used and being used) caused by the presentation of the methodical, educational and physical contents are evaluated and it is aimed to provide contribution to French instructions by interpreting new approaches.In our country, language teaching is one of the most significant components of education as it is all over the world. However, it is the field in which we are the least successful. When we consider spent time, concerted effort made and the result of these studies, it can be said that we are successful in teaching neither french nor other languages. Furthermore, at present, French Language teaching is becoming less and less common at schools and contents of the course books hasn?t been checked for many years. And these cause the basic troubles of the French courses.In this study, primary and secondary french course books (Je Parle Français and Je Voyage En Français) are reviewed according to basic law of Turkish National Education Policy numbered 1739 and regulations and policies related to course equipments.In conceptual dimension, there is information supporting the thesis. Subjects (language, EU language teaching works ,methods, techniques,,.....) which might be related to French Language teaching have been scanned and basic rules are emphazised. Subsequently, it is tried to find solutions for the methodical, physical and educational problems of the course books.As a result of these works, suggestions for the solutions of the problems caused by both course book and by the other factors are mentioned here.Key words: Mother tongue, target language, language teaching programme, language teaching technics and methods, materials.
