Domestic and foreign policy during the nationalist front governments (1975-1977)

Domestic and Foreign Policy during the Nationalist Front Governments (1975-1977) Nationalist Front Governments were established under the leadership of Justice Party Chairman Süleyman Demirel, with the coming together of right-parties. The First Nationalist Front Government was established on 31 March 1975 by the coming together of the Justice Party, Republican Trust Party, Nationalist Movement Party and National Salvation Party. The First Nationalist Front Goverment continued its existence until the June 1977 elections. Since no party could reach the majority to govern on its own after the elections, Bülent Ecevit's Attepmpt to from the government failed, and the task of forming the government was given to Süleyman Demirel. Demirel again participated in the Second World War with the participation of the Nationalist Movement Party and the National Salvation Party, which are among the parties on the right. The Nationalist Front Goverment was established on 21 July 1977. This time, the Republican Trust Party was not included in this coalition. Nationalist Front Governments took Office in the most critical period of the 1970s. Both domestic policy have faced many problems. In domestic polics, economic crises, student unrest, political polarization and disagreements between coalition partners attract attention. In foreign policy, the embargo that the USA started to implement after the Cyprus Peace Operation, the deadlock on the Cyprus issue, the problems with Greece, the disagreements with the European Economic Communtiy and the rapprochement wirh Islamic countries are noteworthy. Ultimately, with the influence of resignations as a result of the divisions within the Justice Party, it was dropped from the political scene on December 31, 1977, with a motion of no confidence, a first in Turkish political.
