A new face among nationalist parties: The Victory Party

As of 2011, with the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War, millions of refugees have arrived in Turkey, positioning the country as a primary destination for migration. The economic, social, and cultural repercussions of these migratory movements have significantly influenced Turkish politics. Anti-immigration sentiments that emerged in Europe during the 1970s have become prominent as Turkey faces an unprecedented influx of migrants. At this juncture, the Victory Party has integrated anti-immigration rhetoric into its political agenda. This emphasis on anti-immigration as a central theme in the Victory Party's discourse has prompted comparisons with far-right parties in Europe. Prominent examples of far-right parties in Germany, France, Austria, Italy, and the Netherlands have been scrutinized. The study examines whether the Victory Party constitutes the first European-style far-right party in Turkey and assesses the similarities in discourse with these European far-right parties, focusing on xenophobia at the cultural level, populism at the political level, and welfare chauvinism at the economic level.
