In 2007, the national agenda focused on the presidential elections and some of the social and political divisions occurred throughout the country. A large part of the political mobilization of the society had begun. Republic Meetings started in Ankara on 14 April 2007 and continued in Istanbul, Çanakkale, Manisa, Izmir and Samsun. Republic Meetings with participatory dimension, the ideological background and ?visible? nationalism emphasis has brought the various discussions.Flags, Atatürk badges and tshirts with crescent and star of use has reached a very large dimensions in Republic Meetings. When we evaluate Republic Meetings together with slogans, official nationalism and participant profile , ?Kemalism-Nationalism? concept has emerged on the basis of diversity within each position.In this study, the types and theories of nationalism, İzmir Gündoğdu interview with Republic Meetings will be evaluated in the context of ?nationalism and national left?.
