Abstract (EN)
Nowadays, clients perceive architectural ideas that has not been built yet, via traditional representation methods. It is important that client understand correctly while experiencing designed space. There are lots of problems emerges while users experiencing the design ideas and designed spaces. These problems cause the users not understand or misunderstand the design. In the perception of the space, communication problems can be eliminated between potential space users as customers, architects and architectural design by using relevant, perceptible and clear visualization technique with virtual reality walk-through experience. The level of education and gender was determined as the factors affecting perception while experiencing the digital space with virtual reality. The impact levels of these factors have been researched. Experiments were conducted using the interview method and data were obtained. Inferences were made by examining these data. Interaction between the user and the digital space can be made with using virtual reality in communication phase of architectural design process. So user can perceive the space like it was built and real. This research method has the three key elements of virtual reality: immersion, interaction and imagination. This can be used as a method for architectural ideas to accomplish more qualified and more compatible designs with user demands. The experience of place with virtual reality contributes to the architectural design process and adds value in terms of time, economy and quality.
