Evaluating the importance and contributions of sketching in the architectural design process with the support of artificial intelligence

This study focuses on the definition, types, and significance of the sketch concept in the design process. Sketching is regarded as an essential tool in the design process, helping designers to concretize, visualize, and communicate their ideas. Sketches, used at every stage of the design, play a crucial role in the processes of visual thinking and expressing creativity. In addition to traditional sketches, this study also examines the role of AI-assisted sketches in the design process. It delves into whether AI-assisted sketches can replace traditional sketches, whether they contribute to creativity and productivity in design, and how these AI-generated sketches impact and influence the design process. In this context, the study explores how AI-generated sketches affect the designer's creativity and productivity, comparing the advantages and disadvantages of AI-assisted sketches to traditional ones. As the use of AI-assisted sketches increases in the design process, the study also examines the role they play in different stages of design and how they contribute to the enhancement of creativity within the design process.
