Abstract (EN)

The human being, who is intertwined with nature and in struggle throughout his life; He observed nature, was inspired by it, tried to understand the behaviour patterns of nature and other creatures living in nature and to adapt them to his life. The designs made by human beings by trying to understand the perfect order and balance of nature and by imitating it, were initially aimed at formal imitation, but in the process, they turned into understanding the working principle behind the form and adapting it to their own living spaces. The concept of biomimicry, which is used to imitate life, has emerged as a design discipline that observes and researches the working logic of life in nature, and learns and imitates the strategies used by living things in nature. Nature is in perfect harmony with every living thing it interacts with and has developed abilities such as high-level perception, information processing and performance in the face of changing conditions. Like the natural environment, the built environment must be able to adapt to changing conditions. The path followed by nature and the strategy it adopts are a source of inspiration for the discipline of architecture. This study resolves the evaluation by analysing the Biomimicry and Kinetic Design approaches inspired by nature and the tools at the intersection of these approaches, which can adapt to the shaping changes, are sensitive to climate and use energy efficiently. Within the scope of this study, the effect of nature as a guide on architectural designs and the potential of Biomimicry and Kinetic Design approaches to be solutions were examined with examples, and the intersection points of Biomimicry and Kinetic Design approaches that can adapt to today's conditions and environmental changes were analysed. With the analysis studies, it has been concluded that the concept of biomimetics has potentials that can be applied to architectural design on issues such as climate change, global warming, protection of biological diversity, conservation of energy, water, air and materials, increasing building performance and resource efficiency, ensuring human health and comfort. In this context, inspired by living creatures in nature, in line with the principles of Biomimicry and Kinetic Design, supported by elements that can act according to environmental effects and climate, design proposals that can respond to these changes, provide indoor comfort and use energy effectively and efficiently are presented.
