Özet (EN)
The aim of this study, with the starting point of the analysis the interrelation of architecture and literature, is to establish a framework in which literature and science fiction, two different realms considered to be outside the boundaries of architecture, are merged with the supposition that architectural discourse necessitates an interdisciplinary approach. It is possible to define this framework as the deductions departing from the architectural and urban objects or the social conditions they are within, through science fiction literature into the epistemological realm of architecture. In this context, the possibility of transferring the presumptions of science fictional realm into architectural discourse in a systematic way is another factor that has shaped the study.Throughout the study, which also emphasizes the usefulness of employing its methodological proposal for the architectural theorist to establish her/his discourse within literal framework, it was demonstrated that spatial data within science fiction literature exist in a similar way within architectural discourse of the recent past that criticizes modern architectural movement. In this direction, an analysis has been made parallel to the discourses of the critiques of modern architectural discourse by the formation of the categories obtained from urban and suburban utopias and the results related to their physical, social and psychological facts, through the meaning obtained from the textual analysis of sixteen novels and stories produced between 1957-2006 by J. G. Ballard, who defended the necessity for science fiction to deal with not the future of humanity, but to interpret today?s situation. As a result, it is possible to assert that it is the contribution of the study to put forward the concepts and the results that do not exist within architectural discourse and the demonstration of the effectiveness of these deductions attained through literary and science fictional discourse in the re-production of architectural knowledge.
