Abstract (EN)
The city is a living space that has been shaped throughout history and emerged as a result of the social relationships people have established in the spaces they live in as a result of the activities of living together. In shaping the cities, it is important to find solutions to the problems encountered in the process that creates the city and brings it to the present day, apart from these social relations. In this context, cities continued their existence by producing solutions suitable for the conditions of the period in line with the problems they encountered in every period they had. Throughout the history of humanity, the global population growth has affected the cities and caused them to change and created smart cities with an innovative lifestyle. Smart cities try to produce solutions by approaching with awareness and sustainable consciousness against the problems that arise in global sense for the requirements of the age. In this process, it will be able to make cities more livable with the solutions it develops by actively using information communication technologies, and it will be able to bring cities to the future through sustainable methods. Especially in global terms over the past decade it has made extensive studies on intelligent cities, but the work done in this sense, Turkey is using smart city applications outside insufficient and some metropolitan. his work selected for field work in the city of Konya, Turkey, as a progressive city in the process of being smart cities across emerges. In the study, the concept of changing city in the historical process has been evaluated and the concept of smart city and its components are examined in detail. The parameters of the smart environment, which is one of the smart city components, are determined and explained in detail. The applications used are exemplified by giving examples from the major smart cities in the world. In the field study, the existing urban characteristics of Konya city and the changes it has undergone were examined. In order to determine its current position in the process of becoming a smart city, smart city applications in the city have been explained. Smart environmental parameters and applications with sustainable features are mentioned. As a result, the city of Konya is a city that progresses and develops in the process of becoming a smart city with its smart applications and sustainable studies. This process will gain speed with the dissemination and development of existing applications. In the future, in this context, a livable city with higher quality qualities will be created thanks to the implementation and development of the existing smart applications of the city with sustainable methods.
