Minor literature in the works of Latife Tekin

In this study, Latife Tekin's works named Buzdan Kılıçlar, Aşk İşaretleri, Berci Kristin Çöp Masalları and Manves City have been examined in the context of minor literature. Minor literature is not the literature which is created by a minor group in their own language, rather it can be defined as the literature which is created in a major language. The "murmuring of the language" is a definition which has been conceptualized by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari in the context of being minor, and it has been generally attributed to the poor who are in the position of minority. In this sense, the minorities in the works of Latife Tekin become prominent in terms of the language which is used by minor identities such as the poor, the woman, the gypsies, the Alevis etc, and their status as belonging to collective minorities. Tekin, who problematizes the relationship of the poor with the major language in her works, makes the characters use a fragmented language, which resembles to the houses of the poor. Therefore, Tekin's attitude towards the major language reveals a "minor being" especially on behalf of the poor, who are in the position of minority. Accordingly, Latife Tekin has dealt with the lives of the poor who lives in the slums and suburbs collectively, and she has presented them with their lack of language and their "deterritorialization of language". It is seen in the works that the poor people who are posited as the "minor" imitate the major language, and they also deterritorialize the language while imitating it. In this sense, Latife Tekin has given the examples of the minor literature of the poor who "murmur the language".
