Abstract (EN)
Aim: In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the frequency of posttraumatic headache in patients coming to emergency service after minor head and whiplash trauma, the features of patients and trauma in this group of headaches, being responsive to the treatment and the social content.Material and Method: Study material is consisted of 119 cases in this study which is made prospective. ICHD-II criteria are based on the diagnosis of posttraumatic headache. The cases are performed for the analysis of cerebral tomography monitoring and classified in reference to Glasgow Coma Scale (GKS) in conscious assessment.Evidence: The way of trauma occurring in cases coming to emergency service after Trauma is defined as 36.1% (43) for having traffic accident in car, 32.8% (39) for out of car (wayfarer), 11.8% (14) for cases of fall, 10.9% (13) of assault, 8.4% (10) of bicycle-motorbike. The way of head trauma is defined as 38.7% (46) of only head trauma, 36.1% (43) of head + cervical trauma, 25.2% (30) of head + cervical + whiplash trauma. The rate of PTBA in the cases is 68%, the rate of cases starting to have head aches after only head trauma is 87% (40), the rate of cases having headaches after head + cervical trauma is 88.4% (38) and the rate of cases having headaches after head + cervical + whiplash trauma is 93.3% (28). Female gender, the way that the event happened, the way of head trauma, the presence of psychological story before the event, drug addiction, alcohol usage, history of antidepressant drugs usage, the presence of whiplash trauma, getting in posttraumatic syndrome after the trauma increase the possibility of occurring posttraumatic headache.Conclusion: It is known that there are a lot of head trauma cases depending on various reasons in our country. It should especially be taken into consideration to have mood disorders which follows a fluctuating course and that occurs in early periods of these traumas and headache complaints accompanying with this situation.In cases of female gander, physiologic history, drug addiction and bad alcohol usage, it is needed to be careful in terms of PTBA development.
