Analysis of the Miracle Worker, Black, and Benim Dünyam movies in a remake context

Cinema has been in contact with other branches of art since its early years and many works have been transferred to the big screen using adaptation, copying, quoting and inspiration methods. Recycling, which is a form of cinematic adaptation, is also a concept that has existed in cinema since the beginning years of cinema history. In short, it can be defined as the current remaking of a film that has already been shot by making small changes. Hollywood cinema is the cinema where recycle films are seen the most. It is possible to say that the concept of reconversion is identified with Hollywood cinema. Although Hollywood is the cinema that uses remake films the most, it is possible to see remake films frequently in other countries' cinemas. Two other of these cinemas are Turkish cinema and Bollywood cinema. Since cinematic texts today are created with references to the past, previous films and texts, and since each new work is closely related to the previous one, it will be more explanatory to evaluate the recycle in this process in terms of understanding their structure. In this study; The historical development of Turkish cinema, Hollywood and Bollywood cinemas was examined, after the definition of the concept of remake was revealed, the films "Miracle Worker", "Black" and "My World" were compared in the context of remake using the content analysis method. When these films were evaluated according to their remake genres, it was concluded that Miracle Worker and Black were accepted as remakes by updating, which is the genre classified by Thomas Leitch. Although there are name changes in the movie My World, the main theme and plot are exactly taken from the movie Black. When these features are evaluated, it is concluded that My World is a direct remake of Black Keywords: Remake, Hollywood, Bollywood, Turkish Cinema.
