Abstract (EN)

Orkhun Inscriptions is the first known written source of the Turks. Inscriptions of Kul Tigin, Bilge Khagan ve Tonyukuk known with Orkhun Inscriptions are studied under this thesis. In this study, the places in Orkhun Inscriptions which was investigated in terms of mythic consideration are discussed. This study is based on the 45th anniversary of Muharrem Ergin's "Orkhun Inscriptions" The first part of the study includes information about Kokturk Period II and Orkhun Inscriptions, and then mythic consideration of Turks are mentioned in the second part of the study. In the third part , sea, river, lake, mountain, forest, plains, valleys, country names, city names and other places classified as places which was investigated in insciptions are analyzed in the way of mysthic consideration and sectional results are included. In the forth part, the analyzed places are generally evaluated comparatively in the context of mythic consideration. The purpose of this study is to investigate and to reveal determination of the elements of the places which are located in the inscriptions in terms of position and meaning dimension that was given to us by our ancestors . It is desired to make a contribution to the Turkish cultural treasure with this study and it is desired to draw attention to the fact that Turkish system of tought still continues with its own culture and civilization.
