Abstract (EN)
Developments in imaging technologies have led to the introduction of many technological innovations to enrich the phenomenon of reality. Augmented Reality is one of these innovations that we have heard a lot about recently. The aim of this study is to teach robotic coding to K12 students with a mobile augmented reality application and to examine the effect on students' academic achievement, attitudes and motivation as well as students' opinions about the application. As a result of the systematic review of the literature, it was determined that there are many studies on augmented reality technology. However, as far as we have examined, it has been determined that there is no augmented reality study on robotics teaching. At this point, an augmented reality technology-based mobile application was prepared to help robotics teaching. The study was designed in a mixed research design. The study was conducted with the participation of 98 students in the 2022-2023 academic year. The effect of the developed mobile application on the academic achievement of students taking robotics coding course was investigated with an experimental study. In addition, quantitative data on the effect of the mobile application on students' attitudes and motivation were collected and analyzed. Afterwards, interviews were conducted with 6 students using the developed application with the help of a semi-structured interview form and the students' views on the application were analyzed in depth. It was found that the use of the application developed within the scope of the study in the robotics coding course increased academic achievement in students by facilitating and supporting learning, and increased their attitudes and motivation towards the course.
