Abstract (EN)

Recent years have witnessed a dramatic transformation in the mobile technologies. The mobile technologies has become the dominant form of telecommunications technology; smartphones and tablets have become critical in the digital strategies of business; consumers and mostly all the sectors influenced from mobile technologies. With the rapid achievements in mobile technology and devices, the banking industry has expanded tremendously. Bank customers with the help of the innovative technology are now able to carry out most of the banking transactions quickly and efficiently at any time and place without the urge of going to the branch. Fast advances in the wireless technology and the intensive penetration of cell phones have motivated banks to spend large budget on building mobile banking systems. However the adoption rate of mobile banking is still underused than expected and still in its infancy. Therefore, current study purposed to enrich knowledge about mobile banking and examine factors that affect individuals behavioural intention to adopt mobile banking. The study integrated the frameworks of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology (UTAUT) developed by Venkatesh et al. (2003), Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DOI) presented by Rogers (1995) and Trust Model (TM) suggested by Kim et al. (2009) and Gefen (2000). Simple probability sampling method has been used in the research. The present study is aimed at mobile banking users and 432 questionnaires are taken into consideration. The research findings revealed that the factors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy and social influence have positive influence on behavioral intention to adopt mobile banking. The factors such as trust propensity, structural assurances and firm reputation have a significant effect on trust and trust in his turn has a positive influence on behavioral intention. Findings also revealed a significant effect of compatibility on behavioral intention. However, the influence of facilitating conditions on behavioral intention to adopt mobile banking was not confirmed.
