Özet (EN)

The innovations brought by the rapidly developing mobile device technology allowed daily transactions to be carried out easily with mobile devices. Social media platforms and instant messaging applications, which form an important part of social life, are widely used with mobile devices. Social media platforms and instant messaging applications, which form an important part of social life, are widely used with mobile devices. Mobile devices, which are an important part of business and social life, are the primary source of digital crime and digital evidence. Thanks to its integrated structure with the user of mobile devices, it has become the most important source of evidence used in criminal investigations. The fact that mobile devices contain important personal data has caused device manufacturers to develop different security applications and encryption methods for the security of this data. In forensic investigations, obtaining evidence from mobile devices has become extremely important in the clarification of the investigation. Therefore, methods of obtaining evidence from mobile devices must proceed in parallel with the security and encryption methods used. Otherwise, it will be difficult for the judicial authorities to make a healthy and quick decision, since evidence cannot be obtained from mobile devices to clarify the crime. In order to obtain evidence from mobile devices in the field of forensic information, firstly a forensic copy of the device is taken and transactions are carried out over the copy. Using screen locks on mobile devices is a major obstacle to making a logical copy of most devices. In this thesis, mobile device forensic processes, forensic copying methods and forensic tool sets are examined. A new method with high classification success has been developed for detecting pattern lock from fingerprints on the mobile device screen. In addition, a new mobile device review process model was proposed in relation to the developed method, and a sample forensic analysis was conducted.
