Information, data, voice and video transfer communication technology overfixed systems, advences to mobile systems. Today, access to the internet, bankingprocedures, e-trade and similar applications can be performed via handheld PC?s andmobile phones. Also official applications such as passport procedures, access topersonal idantity informations and traffic records will be possible in near future. It willnot take very long time to reach this information and technology level mentioned above.While the technology advances towards mobile systems, mobile phones and computersmight be combined at the same platform.In this study, it is aimed to inform the mobile devices programmers at thebeginning point.What are mobile devices and why programming of these equipment is importantsubjects are explained. History, hardware and software of mobile equipments, mobiledevices wireless connection technologies and programming procedures are investigated.Mobile device operating systems and programming platforms are investigated andcompared. Some projections are put forth on how the programmers must trainthemselves and in wich direction the hardware and software of mobile equipments willadvence .
