Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, some packet collisions that are encountered in the realistic scenarios and result in packet losses investigated in mobile ad-hoc network (MANET). Our investigations reveal that these collisions cannot recognized by the network simulation tools for some specific realistic cases. In this thesis, we modify the well-known network simulator NS2 to allow the mobil ad hoc nodes to recognize these collisions to make NS2 more realistic. The topology which is created for solving this issue cover the internals of a mobilenode, routing mechanisms and network components that are used to construct the network stack for a mobile node. The communication paremeters considered in this study are Channel and Network interface, Radio propagation model, MAC protocols, Interface Queue, Link layer and Address resolution protocol model (ARP). NS2, which is a network simulator is used to create this model, and problems which is known as hidden node occuring a collisions over wireless network, masked node, and blocking effect among nodes are studied using simulator. As a result, the problems of data packet collisions is unable to be captured with threshold values, which is used in a data transmission by node, called as Request-to-send Threshold (MAC_RTSThreshold), Carier Sensing Thresh (CSThresh_), and Receiving Thresh (RXThresh_) are able to be captured with parameters is obtained after changes.
