Abstract (EN)

As new cellular networks support not only voice services but also multimedia applications, the requirement of reliable data transmission at high speed creates a heavy load on the system. While LTE / LTE-A technology alleviates this load, it is necessary to manage resources effectively because of the inadequacy of existing radio resources in the systems. Thus, the scheduler at the MAC layer of the base station plays an important role in resource allocation to the user. In this thesis, the MAS algorithm for the full-buffer model and the E-MAS algorithm considering the traffic characteristics from the users were designed. In addition to the "RR" and "B-CQI" algorithms designed for the full-buffer model in the literature, "RR Traffic" and "B-CQI Traffic" algorithms which are suitable for real life were also handled for performance evaluations and algorithms have been analyzed comparatively in terms of mean and edge user throughput, system fairness and BLER performance measures. When the simulation results are examined, it has been seen that MAS and E-MAS algorithms maximize the throughput performance measure while distributing the resources fairly among the users. It also brings itself to the forefront by providing reliable and continuous performance against high user speeds.
