Abstract (EN)

In this study, CdTe solar cell and mini module devices have been fabricated by MOCVD and characterised for researching performance of thin film CdTe devices. SCAPS modelling were performed and SCAPS results compared with experimental results. Also, EQE and C-V measurements have been done with J-V measurement for better investigating the device perfomance. This study shows the effects of using ZnO HRT layer on the performance of MOCVD grown CdZnS/CdTe solar cells. A clear enhancement, 1.8 % in conversion efficiency, observed by comparing to devices without the ZnO HRT buffer layer. PV performance of nano structured and planar CdS/CdTe solar cells has similar conversion efficiencies and light trapping effect was observed in this device. Besides, performance of CdTe space solar cell on flexible glass for observing effect of window layer and CdTe mini module performance have been investigated. Furthermore, CdTe solar cell has performance stability until six month. Associated with these device performances, high efficiency MOCVD CdTe photovoltaic devices promising on industrial thin film photovoltaic technology.
