Abstract (EN)

One of the concepts that have been observed in the global societies is the concept of home. People are getting to feel closer to the concept of home and commitment to home which can be seen also in most of the works in contemporary American Literature works. This feeling is built on something missing in these works. In this thesis, the concept of home will be analyzed by focusing on contemporary ethnic American literature. These works use identity and diaspora together as inseparable concepts from the concept of home. The works that will be used in this thesis approach the concept in different ways. Thus, the purpose of the thesis is to find out various approaches to the theme of home by analyzing ZZ Packer's Drinking Coffee Elsewhere, Diana Abu Jaber's The Language of Baklava and Rebecca Goldstein's Mazel.
