Abstract (EN)

Modern science developed firstly in the field of astronomy. In the 17th century, broader breakthroughs and revolutionary developments marked the beginning of a new era. This new period, which made great progress with the works of Galileo Galilei, reached its summit with the workwritten by Galileo in 1624 titled Dialog Sopra i Due Massimi Sistemi Del Mondo. Galileo dealt a major blow to the Aristotelian understanding of physics. Undoubtedly, the most important thing that distinguishes him from the thinkers of his time is this objection he made to the Aristotelian understanding of thought that was dominant in Medieval Europe. He stated that to understand the universe, one must first know its language, that is mathematics. Because in scientific research, experiment and observation can only be made sense by mathematical reasoning. He brought a new perspective to science by using the experimental method in science. Galileo determined the method of acquiring knowledge in a scientific sense. He made great contributions to the formation of modern science with his studies on physical science. He put forward the experiments that were designed against Aristotle's experience-based science idea and the quantitative information that will emerge as a result of these experiments. Galileo pioneered Newton with this thought and played an influential role in the birth of modern science. This study will evaluate Galileo Galilei 's contributions to Newtonian science with the idea of empiricism. To understand the ideas put forward by Galileo in the best way, the period in which he lived, the effects on the formation of this period, and its effect on the periods after his period will be examined.
