Abstract (EN)

Metaphysics is one of the disciplines of philosophy that has caused controversy throughout the history of philosophy. The conceptual ambiguity of metaphysics regarding the realm beyond physics has caused people to question how they can know this realm. In the first part of the study, the question(s) about metaphysics are addressed and the metaphysical rupture, which constitutes the main subject of the thesis, is aimed to be illuminated; in the second part, this rupture is concretized around existentialism; in the third and fourth parts, the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Søren Kierkegaard are evaluated in their own contexts in the face of this rupture of the modern age, and this rupture is tried to be addressed and resolved through an attempt at an existential metaphysics. The methodology used in this study is based on literature review and analysis. A human being with a metaphysical consciousness is a human being who can perceive himself, the world and its contents in a unified unity on the basis of his relationship with God. The lack of this consciousness brings about metaphysical rupture. Nietzsche, who explained this rupture in the 19th century with the phrase "God is dead" and décadence as a state of nihilism that expresses the expansion of this phrase, dealt with man in his philosophy as independent of metaphysical consciousness and God. The groundlessness of man, who is compelled to search for his own meaning within a physical conception of the world, has led him to find this foundation in the movement of eternal recurrence and the will to power, the essence of this movement, which Nietzsche presents as a new proposal for the death of God regarding the world and man, and in this way to strive to become superhuman. Kierkegaard's philosophy has both a metaphysical and theological character in the sense that it explains the re-finding of the human being, who has lost himself and become alienated from his own existence due to the metaphysical rupture he has experienced in the modern age, and his becoming a self by finding himself again through faith in the existence of God, which modern man has now forgotten. In this context, the category of repetition, which Kierkegaard proposes to modern philosophy as a new category, has been a ground that gives us the possibility of the possibility of existential metaphysics, which we have tried to address in this study to overcome the metaphysical rupture, in terms of being the possibility of capturing the subjective truth of this existence as the forward movement of the subjective human existence that takes place at a time called the moment and being considered as a category belonging to the religious field.
