Abstract (EN)
This thesis analyzes how liberty and state concepts have adjoined in modern times and the theoretical trends as a result of this through theoreticaly analyzing of the discussed philosophers and by making use of the historical and sociological analysis method. In order to accomplısh this task, firstly how liberty and state concepts are adjoined is discussed and it is shown that the problem is essentially about the modern state and the legitimacy. Succesively, theoretical inclinatıons that have emerged. As a result of this adjoinment is tried to be dealth withn in this thesıs, as one of these inclinatıons, the state perception of protecting freedom is introduced through the meaning that modern natural law philosophers like Grotius, Hobbes and Locke had attributed to the concepts of liberty and state. Following this, the second theoretical trend, not conceıvıng liberty as a legıtmate issue and recognizing it as a distints phenomenon with the state represented by Spinoza and Hegel is analyzed under the title "state that is realizing freedom"
