Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is focused on functions of folksong bars and folksongs produced in modern city ambiance. In first chapter, by coming from it?s name (Folksong Bars), it is discussed that if the music, that is performed in folksong bar, is folksong. As a result, it is discovered that there is a necessity to identify folk music and folksong with uncommon ways and it is tried to reach contemporary definitions. In second chapter, it is dealt with formation and development process of folksong bars and it is tried to determine major factors effective for their constitutions. Third chapter of the study is reserved for detection of function of folksong bars and music performed in these places.After all these analysis, it is found that folksong bars are establised due to the need of social and psychological needs of some public groups living in modern urban areas. So it is explored that folksong bars and their music have functions of; Spending pleasure time, entertaining and aesthetatic enjoyment, transfering culture to next generations and education, creating attachment emotion and providing identity, releasing from influences, relaxing and reducing effectivity, protestation, publicity and creating public opinion, being historical parameter.
