Abstract (EN)
The political system is a set of structures and processes for the actualization of decisions taken by authoritarian methods for the distribution of values in a society. The classification of modern political systems includes three main types: democratic systems, totalitarian systems and authoritarian systems. The definitions of these three main types which was made in the 20th century are insufficient to explain the types of new political systems that have emerged from the era we are in. Nowadays, although some political systems are heavily seen in authoritarian management policies, they differ from the modern definition of authoritarian systems in terms of their political structures and institutions. In this study, it is tried to determine the place in the classification of these political systems which we call contemporary authoritarian systems. For this purpose, the first chapter of the study focused on the concept of political system. Subject of the second part is the classification of modern political systems; but the modern definition of authoritarian systems is not included in this chapter. In the last chapter of the study, firstly the modern definition of authoritarian systems, then the structural features and the political institutions of the modern authoritarian systems are emphasized. In this way, it has been tried to evaluate at which points the contemporary authoritarian systems are separated from the modern definition of authoritarianism and at which points they have common characteristics.
