Abstract (EN)
In this study, the transformations and the effects of the concepts of Modernism and Postmodernism, which have been entrenched in thought, action and life, on society, are examined. The results of the realities created by these concepts, which cause great effects and changes in the global sense, have manifested themselves individually, socially and universally. With modernity, man has the ability to make decisions with his own mind, transform the universe, and defend his individual rights, while he has made a social progress by dominating nature through science. With the dominance of the capitalist order on the economic system, the society was divided into classes, new cultural differences emerged between people and existing ideas were transformed. While the thought of modernism created innovative approaches in the field of society, art and culture, it also contained diversity and contradictions and became open to criticism. Postmodernism has criticized and questioned all these universal truths. In the period between these two concepts, the constantly transforming concept, thought and cultural developments have led the universe and humanity to find the purpose of life. While trying to adapt to the changes experienced, people have been deeply affected and have taken on the role of the building block of the society. The chained transformations experienced have caused the change of the social structure, the intertwining of cultures, the forced or not forced migration of individualized and liberated societies from the inside to the outside and from the outside to the inside. The concepts of migration and art, which are constantly present in the life process of societies, are reflected in the artists and works of art with their intellectual and operational practices. Keywords: Modernism, Postmodernism, Culture, Migration, Acculturation
