Abstract (EN)
First of all, the traditional architectural texture, which is one of the most important parts of our cultural heritage that should be passed on to future generations, is rapidly disappearing with modernization. In this context, the province of Malatya is rapidly losing its local texture with rapid urbanization and applied urban transformations. The study area was determined in the Konak district of Yeşilyurt district, which is 6 km away from the center of Malatya, which has hosted many civilizations, and which has relatively preserved its traditional texture. It has been determined that the traditional mud brick texture has started to disappear due to many reasons such as abandonment, new construction, and increasing population, along with changing living standards, in Konak District, where the modern city border is gradually approaching. It is aimed to examine the existing adobe housing texture, to document the existing texture before it disappears, to identify the problems, to propose solutions and to document, to create a resource for future studies. Within the scope of the thesis, the historical and physical characteristics of the mansion district were examined and various texture analyzes were made. Field studies were carried out, the plan; facade and structural features of 20 traditional houses were analyzed and documented with survey drawings and photographs. With these studies carried out in the traditional texture, the characteristics specific to the settlement area were determined. As a result of the studies, preservation problems in traditional tissue were determined and preservation suggestions were presented. In summary, with the documentation and on-site detection studies, the settlement, plan, facade and construction system features of the traditional texture were analyzed, and settlement-specific features were determined. In the light of the studies, the conservation problems of the traditional tissue in the settlement were determined and a conservation proposal was developed.
